Elena and Damon waltzing to Ed Sheeran's "Give Me Love"One of the many cool things about making TV shows for the teen audience – aside from swoon-worthy romantic plotlines and goofy humor — is picking the music. For one thing, younger viewers expect tunes that are just as fun and unique as they are, and second, there’s no better way to make a scene feel contemporary than by seasoning it with the hottest band of the moment. Luckily Alloy Entertainment’s shows get help from some pretty badass music supervisors (you know that song you just discovered and currently have on repeat? These guys probably heard it a year ago). I mean, how amazing was the ballroom dance in The Vampire Diaries with that pop-folk ballad by Ed Sheeran, or James Vincent McMorrow’s haunting cover of “Wicked Game” when Blair tells Chuck (yet again) that she has to let him go? Below is a list (in no particular order, because really how could I choose?!) of my 10 favorite songs that played on Alloy Entertainment’s shows over the past year. You can also access the playlist on Spotify: Best of Alloy Entertainment #1
